Firearms Training / Self-Defense Coaching

Sheri brings a passion and enthusiasm for self-defense, firearms and personal empowerment. She will help you learn and build confidence with firearms in a safe environment. Perhaps you’re brand-new to firearms. Or you’ve been around firearms, but just haven’t had any formal firearms training. Maybe you’re intimidated to go to a range by yourself.

Sheri knows what that’s like and is passionate about using what she has learned over the years through her own firearms training and firearms instructor credentials to help you develop the right skillset, mindset and comfort level to build your confidence. She would love to help you stand in your own power and refuse to be a victim!

Firearms are an incredible tool to empower your life with freedom and confidence. It isn’t just about self defense, though that’s important. It’s a way to learn more about yourself and a great metaphor for life. How do you approach new things? With confidence or with fear? Sheri would love to help you with your journey of discovery through firearms - to help you overcome fear, discover your brave self and have fun doing it!

Your Firearms / Self-Defense Journey:

Ready to begin your firearms / self-defense journey? Would you like to learn the basics of gun safety and how to shoot a pistol? Interested in learning more and taking your first shots? Or maybe you want to hone your confidence with firearms? Would you like to get comfortable with going to a range? Or are you interested in coaching in situational awareness and personal defense strategies? Sheri would love to explore the possibilities of your firearms / self-defense journey with you and can tailor her coaching / training for your needs and to meet you where you are at on your own journey.

Sheri offers self-defense coaching / firearms training sessions including Beginner Pistol (two-three hours), Refuse to be a Victim, developing situational awarness, personal defense strategies and more. She can help you take your first shots at the range (after taking her beginner pistol training). Or if you have prior experience, Sheri can go with you to the range as your personal coach. It definitely takes away the intimidation factor to have someone who knows the ropes to go with you! Especially the first several times. Range coaching is done at Southside Guns & Sharpshooters Range or Top Gun Shooting Sports.

Speaking Engagements / Classes / Group Training:

Sheri also offers larger classes /speaking engagements for groups and organizations, conferences and small group firearms coaching.  Firearms Background

Sheri has a passion for firearms training, assisting others to develop the knowledge, skills and situational awareness to refuse to be a victim, overcome their fear and defend themselves. She is an NRA Certified Instructor in: Pistol, Personal Protection Inside the Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home, Refuse to Be a Victim and Home Firearm Safety and is a NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officer.

Empowering women is where Sheri really thrives. She is the CEO / Leader Instructor for SBCC Women Shooters - Self-Defense, Building Confidence and Coaching Women Shooters! She loves to help women build confidence in themselves both in the world of firearms and in life as a firearms instructor.

Sheri has trained weekly in firearms self-defense for many years and has trained with instructors across the country, including with GORUCK on counter-ambush, active shooter intervention and force-on-force. Please see her firearms credentials listed further below.

She is a little bit city and a little bit country, so Sheri naturally grew up with family hunting on their Missouri Century Farm (that’s been in her family over 100 years). But like so many women, Sheri began her own discovery of firearms from a desire for self-defense and personal power. After two events, just two weeks apart - an attempted car-jacking and three men threatening to kill her in a park. She also “gets” transformation and firearms as a path to self-empowerment and overcoming trauma, given her personal firearms journey and experience as a sexual assault survivor.

Speaking of country, Sheri went on her first deer hunt in Nov. 2020 at the farm and had the blessing of harvesting a 180-pound buck on her very first hunt!! On the land that her family has owned and hunted for generations!

Sheri’s Advanced Firearms Training

 

Watch Sheri coming out of the passenger's side front seat, climbing over/backing out of the driver's side after having shot 10 rounds out of the passenger’s side window at a target and nailed them all, during GORUCK Advanced Firearms Training / Counter Ambush training. And then she nailed all 10 shots after climbing out of the car too. This weekend also included Active Shooter Intervention and Force on Force training. Sheri was also the winner of the competition course!
